Agboola Assumes Duty As Provost Neuropsychiatric Hospital Abeokuta

ABEOKUTA - The newly appointed Provost and Medical Director of Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Dr. Agboola Afis Akanni has resumed duty.

Agboola until his appointment as substantive Provost, was a consultant Special Grade I/Head of Servicom and Quality Improvement Services of the hospital.

Dr. Agboola had his undergraduate medical education at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State from where he qualified as a Medical Doctor with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M. B, Ch. B.) in 1998.

Upon graduation from Medical School, the new Provost had his Medical internship at General Hospital, Lagos in 1999 and proceeded immediately to serve his father’s land as a Medical Officer through National Youth Service Corps scheme at Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, Ogun State. 

He was thereafter appointed as a Registrar in Postgraduate Medical Residency Training Programme in Psychiatry at Federal Psychiatric Hospital, Calabar, Cross River State in October, 2001.

He was appointed as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta on 1st of May, 2007.

He is a fellow of the West African College of Physicians and also holds the Masters in Public Health (MPH) with Management Option at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State in 2016.
