ABEOKUTA - The South West Bureau Chief of Business Day Newspaper, Comrade Razaq Ayinla was on Wednesday emerged as Chairman, Correspondents' Chapel of Ogun State Council, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Ayinla emerged unopposed following the disqualification of other chairmanship candidate, Laide Raheem of The Sun newspaper.
In a statement issued by the state council of NUJ, Laide Raheem was disqualified for presentation of multiple letters of appointment and non-attainment of prerequisites number of years in practice before being eligible to contest elections.
The statement signed by the council's caretaker Chairman, Omolola Adeyinka called on the former leadership of the chapel to handover the property of the chapel to the new leadership, calling on other members to cooperate with the new leadership in the interest of peace.
Other members of the chapel's executive who emerged unopposed are; Fasasi Sulaiman of Daily Independent as Secretary, while Ernest Nwokolo of The Nation newspaper also returned unopposed as Treasurer.
