Shomide Charges Ogun Youths To Be Good Ambassadors, Becomes NYCN Grand Patron

ABEOKUTA - Hon. Ayodeji Shomide, the Caretaker Chairman, Abeokuta South local government has called on Nigerian youths to role models and good ambassadors for coming generations. 

Hon. Shomide gave the advice on Wednesday at the inauguration of executive members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abeokuta South branch. 

The Council Chairman who frowned at the growing rate of drug abuse among the youths, called on the new youths leaders in the council area to join the fight against drug abuse and be an advocate of change in their new positions. 

The soft-spoken politician therefore appreciated the youths council for supporting the administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the state. 

"I am happy to receive this honour from NYCN and proud to be a youth leader. They said youths are the leaders of tomorrow, but your tomorrow starts today. 

"I want to enjoin you to be good to those coming behind you. Let us work together to bring out the best from our youths. If you look around, there is growing trend of drug abuse among the youths, so I'm bringing you on board of the taskforce to speak against drug abuse in our society. 

"I urge you to use your new positions to make a difference in the society," Shomide averred. 

Earlier, while decorating the council chairman, the state Chairman, National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abdul-Jabar Ayelagbe commended Hon. Shomide for his giant strides in the local government. 

Ayelagbe thanked the local government Chairman for assisting the youths during the covid-19 lockdown in the state, urging the youths to continue rendering their supports at all times.
