Abiodun Pays August, September Salaries To MAPOLY Lecturers

ABEOKUTA - Governor Dapo Abiodun has graciously assisted the management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta with the sum of N200million to pay part of the outstanding salaries and allowances of its staff.


This came as the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, MAPOLY chapter threatened strike action over five months outstanding salaries and four years outstanding promotions.


The governor on Monday approved for release of N200m to the institution to aid the payment of salaries. 


Upon release of the money to the Polytechnic  account, management has paid the remaining staff of the institution for  the month of August and salaries of all staff for the month of September 2020.


This was contained in a release by the polytechnic's Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola on Thursday.


Ajibola said the, Acting Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji appreciated the governor for coming to the aid of the institution especially when the Christmas and New Year Celebration is at the corner.
