ABEOKUTA - The Chief Executive Officer of M & J Bread, Comrade Olusegun Clement on Friday stormed the streets of Abeokuta to distribute free loaves of bread to beggars and other downtrodden on the streets.
Clement, a former Special Assistant to the former governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, said he found the philanthropic act as necessary considering the hardship currently ravaging the country.
Clement said it is the usual policy of the company to give back to the community on quarterly basis but emphasized that the philanthropic gesture became important to fill in against the hardship that comes with the first month of the year.
He however urged other business owners to emulate his act of giving emphasizing that there are people who needs help around.
His words, “We must just give to our people many of them need our help and that is how God had designed it that some will be giving to some others to live a better life.
“For us, it is a quarterly act to give to our people, we are here because they are there and we love them especially for their support for our business and we won’t stop doin this."
The bread was however shared and distributed across major parts of the state capital and the other two senatorial districts in the state.
