NYCN Honours Ogun Council Chairman For One Year Performance In Office



ABEOKUTA - The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Abeokuta South Local Government Chapter has lauded the council Chairman, Honorable Ayomide Michael Shomide for his giant strides in the council area in the last one year.

According to coordinator of the group, "We honour the chairman, Abeokuta South LG for his sportsmanship, charismatic and humane dispositions, patriotism, empowerment for youths and youth’s developmental projects and his selfless service to humanity. I am now calling on the other local government leaders to emulate AY sho’s leadership qualities so as to move Ogun State to a greater height.”

 “There is no gainsaying that we are blessed with Hon. Shomide , Chairman , Abeokuta South LG government. We thank God that the chair has made us proud. The award is to reiterate our solidarity and support for him, for meeting the needs of young people and for charting a different course since three hundred and sixty five days”. He said he is fulfilling the mandate of youths and he should be encouraged.

The Vice chairman, transition committee of Abeokuta South LG , Hon. Olanrewaju Samad,  in his remark appreciated National Youth Council of Nigeria for the award also described the chairman as a personification of humility, stressing that in spite of his noble background and the position that he holds, he chose to identify with the aspirations of the youths at the local government.

Another member of the group, a former cordinator, Comrade Omowale Oyegunle aka Ebony “Hon. Shomide has been part of the revolution in the last one year. He talks less and because of this many people couldn’t read him correctly. He is a great master strategist, a blessing to us in Abeokuta South and Ogun state in general, he is here to ensure a new dawn and solid foundation for the future of our dear Local government’’

While reacting to the award, Hon. Shomide appreciated the Youth council for counting him worthy for the  award, he further added that, "I thank His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun,the governor of Ogun state, who has given me this uncommon opportunity to serve my people, I seriously hold on his agenda to bring Abeokuta South back to the path of progress” " also my team,  all the transition committee members, all the management and staff of Abeokuta South Local government.

The Chairman pointed out that he would continue to run a government that allows for inclusive progress and development, and he would make sure that he prioritize the interest of the youths because if the youths are okay, they would be able to take care of their parents and our society will be safe.
