ABEOKUTA - The Ogun state police command on Thursday uncovered a notorious ritualist den at Ijagun, Ijebu area of Ogun state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun while on spot assessment visit to the crime scene with journalists said the hideout was discovered following a tip-off by one Imoleayo Ashade that she was defrauded of N1.310million naira.
The suspects are; Salau Taiwo, Ifakunle Adeyemi, Tajudeen Jimoh, and Adebayo Akeem.
The victim explained that, she was accosted by two unknown men who appealed to her for assistance because they were stranded and have nowhere to stay for the night.
She narrated further that, she assisted the two men by taking them to her family house where they passed the night and left the following morning.
She added that, the two men together with their accomplices lured her to their den and swindled her of the sum of N1.310million on the pretence they wanted to assist her financially.
"I think I was hypnotized, because at first I believed everything they said. They told me to bring my fiance so that, we can both be empowered spiritually.
"We went there, they gave us black soap to bath so that, money can come, but they made us sworn on oath that we must not tell anybody.
"I was using the soap with my fiance before he went to NYSC camp, something just came over me and I immediately inform the OPC operatives in our area who invaded their secret hideout with the police," Imoleayo said.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP, Edward Ajogun said the suspects would be charged to court of competent jurisdiction.
Recovered from the suspects are, box containing various denominations of fake currencies, assorted charms, and the sum of N1,310,000 collected fraudulently from the victim.
