Ogun Elders Forum Admonish Border Town Residents To Follow Due Process In Solving Herders Crisis



ABEOKUTA - The Ogun state Elders Consultative Forum has admonished people living around the border areas especially Yewa and Ijebu axis to always follow due process and continuous dialogue to resolve herdsmen crisis in their domain. 


This was contained in a press statement issued in Abeokuta at the weekend by the Chairman, Ogun Elders Forum, Prince Bola Ajibola.


The forum enjoined people living in the crisis ridden areas to avoid taking laws into their hands, assuring them of the state government's determination in sustaining the existing peace in the state. 


Prince Ajibola therefore implored people of the state to embrace peace and encourage dialogue at all times with non-indigenes living in the state. 


"The people of Yewa and Ijebu with other boarder areas of the State that facing Fulani herdsmen crisis has been admonished not to relente in their effort in following due  process  and continous dialogue at all times. 


"They should avoid taking laws into their hands and be assured that the present administration in the State led by Prince Dapo Abiodun , will continue to work tirelessly to sustain the existing peace being enjoyed by all and Sundry in the State.


"It is imperative for the good people of  Ogun State to continue to engaging in dialogue where there are issues and tolerate one another because one must be  able to give peace a chance,  no society can develop meaningfully without peace.


"Elders noted that like in any society, there will always be differences, but the people must accept their perceived differences with respect, love as members of the same family."
