SWAN, Ogun FA, Gateway United Mourn Former NFF Technical Director


ABEOKUTA - The Ogun state chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has commiserated with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and immediate family of late Chief Kashimawo Laloko.


Chief Laloko, a former Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) died on Saturday at the Sacred Hearts Catholic Hospital, Abeokuta at age 76.


SWAN in a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday by its Ogun State Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji said the late football administrator would be greatly missed for his developmental grassroots football in Nigeria through his pet project, Pepsi Academy. 


The association described his death as inevitable and colossal loss to the Nigerian football and world at large.


Ogunsiji noted the late Coach was known for his vocal and critic on football issues and invaluable contributions to the Pepsi football academy.


Similarly, the Ogun State Football Association described late Laloko as a diligent and energetic administrator.


The FA Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi said Laloko's wealth of experience cannot be quantified, praying God to give the family fortitude to bear the loss.


In the same vein, the management of Gateway United Football club of Ogun state has expressed grief over the passing of the club's one-time Technical Adviser.


The team,  in a condolence message signed by its Acting General Manager, Mr. Niyi Soleye described the deceased as an indefatigable contributor to the growth of the round leather game in Nigeria and Africa.
