LAGOS State Cooperative College, Agege on Monday unveiled a five-day digital transformation strategic training for cooperative societies in the state.
The Provost, Mr. Akorede Ojomu, said at the event held on the college premises that the training is important for cooperators, to serve as a guide as well as the mode of operation and stability for members during the post-COVID-19 pandemic era.
He said the country has entered a stage where effective application of digital technology may prove inevitable to the survival of any business entity, hence the need to take proactive action that will guarantee continued existence and growth.
“As trustees, managers and members of cooperative societies, it is imperative that we appreciate the challenges occasioned by the incidence of the global pandemic and its attendant protocols on businesses and how this affects the realisation of our core business objectives.
“This training has thus taken into account, our needs as cooperative societies in the dynamic world of digitalisation, ensuring that no stone is left unturned in an effort to secure the future of our business operations,” Ojomu added.
The Registrar, Mrs. Risikat Oshomo, said the training would give facilitators a level playing field to stabilise as others, especially in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era.
She urged participants to ensure they gain from the training.
