Ogun Mines Workers Chairman, Fasiu Abiola Becomes PCRC Grand Patron Adatan Division

ABEOKUTA - The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Adatan area division, has inducted the Ogun State Chairman, Nigeria Union of Mine Workers (N.U.M.W), Mr. Fasiu Abiola as its Grand Patron.

The induction ceremony held at the (N.U.M.W) Secretariat Saje, Abeokuta the state capital had in attendance notable personalities from different works of live.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of (PCRC), in Adatan division, Mr. Akinlabi Taiwo commended the patron for his good work as leader, in  building up the relationship between the police and the citizens.

He said the essence of inducting new members and Patron was to assist the Police with information and logistics to combat crimes in the society.

In his words, "We have to look into the crannies of Ogun state and fish out the men who can assist the Nigerian police materially and morally giving the police a vital information of which we work with.
We are happy this morning that we have fish out another big fish Mr. Abiola Fasiu who has now become a full member of PCRC and the grand Patron.

"We are preaching the gospel of community policing that  the Inspector General of Police is preaching now we have to make sure in police our community by ourselves we have a very large number of minning workers union in Ogun state they were nothing less than 20,000 members in the state and they have been preaching our gospel  policing is not a one man job we have to make sure we corporate with the police in other to have maximum protection of our lives and property."

Hon. Akinlabi advised residents of the state to be more cautious, while appealing to the federal government to recruit more men.

"We want people in the community to be careful nowadays party they shouldn't exhibit their wealth there an d when you want to employ a gateman or house Helo think very well and contact the police let them make findings about them for you  do not move around in the night we are having minimal officers they are the one engaging the lives and property , chasing kiddnarpers, robbers and cultists .

"We are imploring the federal government to engage more men into the Nigeria police so as to have a very robust security of lives and property." He said
 
In his reaction, the new Grand Patron, pledged his support in contributing to security of the state.

"Looking at the crowd today, this is only Egba division we have the Remo, Yewa and Ijebu division that means our Union is everywhere in the state, we all have to corporate in ensuring the security of local, state and the federal level.

"I will do my best in supporting the PCRC both financially and morally to make sure that Nigeria is free from insecurity".
