ABEOKUTA - An international NGO, Aviary Association Worldwide has called on government at all levels to ensure prompt payment of workers and outstanding deductions.
Aviary in a felicitation message signed by its Public Relations Officer, Julius Imabeh, saluted the doggedness and sacrifice of Nigerian workers despite the prevailing challenges.
The group therefore, assured the workers of their support in building a new Nigeria.
"As the world marks another international labour day, we the members of the Aviary Association Worldwide join the entire world in celebrating and congratulating the working men and women of the world's workforce, especially the Nigeria Labour Union as well as all men and women who work in various fields contributing their quota to nation building.
"Today we pay homage to the hardwork, commitment and sacrifice, the Nigerian working class, who despite all obstacles have continually, through their sweat, though not properly remunerated, have shown the willingness and an undying commitment to building the Nigeria of our dreams.
"The government should endeavour to pay all civil servants there salaries as at when due and ensure all deductions and arrears are cleared.
"The Aviary Association Worldwide also commends and salute your efforts today and will stand shoulder to shoulder with you in these unprecedented times in our journey as a nation to build a new Nigeria for ourselves and generations unborn."
