ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Adebayo Ayorinde has restated his administration's commitment to advancing education and social welfare in the local government.
These, he said, are means of improving the living standard of the people of Abeokuta North local government by preparing them for a brighter and rewarding future.
The Council Boss said this at the 100 Days in office celebration and empowerment program of his administration, held at the Oba Odeleye Park, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.
Ayorinde at the event distributed Customized School Bags tagged "Back to School" to Public Primary School pupils across the 16 Wards of the Local government.
He also empowered 6 female residents of the local government with tricycles and cash support of #10,000 each.
The LG Chairman also gave out cash of N10, 000 to 100 youths in the local government.
50 others were beneficiaries of the Chairman's free Health insurance scheme which was facilitated via his AYO NI O foundation.
Ayorinde also gave out a cash gift to recognize and appreciate World Champion and Gold Medalist, Latifat Tijani Omolola, who is an Indigene of the local government.
While reeling out some of his administration's achievements, the Council Chairman said his 100 days in office was a clear signal to the good people of Abeokuta North local government that he came with a blueprint to transform the local government.
According to him "Without being immodest, I can say we have given a good account of ourselves in the execution of our mandate in the last 100 days."
"The positive feedbacks from our people in the last 100 days have further strengthened our resolve to put the people first in whatever we do and I can assure you that we will sustain efforts as empowerment programs, because they are vital in helping us accomplish the task of moving Abeokuta north to greater heights.
"I am going to continue empowering our people till I leave office. We have identified the fact that creating jobs ultimately alleviate poverty, builds a stronger local economy, and helps our people to be self-reliant. You cannot stop something that works." he noted.
The event had in attendance top Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Engr. Seni Ayorinde, Alh. Bakai Okedara, Prince Kayode Tejuosho, High Chief Bode Mustapha, Barr. Wale Abeeb Ajayi, Hon. Olayiwola Ojodu, Commissioner for Rural Development, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, Vice Chairman of the LG, Hon. Ayoola Oluajo, State Organizing Secretary of the APC, Alh. Adelani Adeyemi, immediate past Chairman of the APC, Abeokuta North LG, Alh. Akeem Shobayo, APC Chairman, Abeokuta North LG, Alhaja Faidat Sarumi Akintunde, Chief Timothy Akindele, Chief Ahmed Taiwo, Alhaji Hakeem Okedara among others.
