ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Taiwo Oludotun has declared his readiness to support the "Make Schools Better" project, an educational support programme of Dapo Abiodun Likeminds in Abeokuta North local government of Ogun state.
Hon. Oludotun pledged his support on recently when the executive members of DA Likeminds visited him.
The Commissioner said he would continue to support any educational initiative by groups it individuals.
Speaking earlier, the Coordinator, Dapo Abiodun Likeminds in Abeokuta North, Akinyele Ogunpola said the initiative was designed to support public Schools in Abeokuta North local government with educational materials and other resources necessary to prepare them for a rewarding future.
Ogunpola explained that it was necessary for groups and individuals to complement government's efforts especially in areas such as education.
He noted that the initiative would kick off next week.
His words "We are going to champion a much unique programme, first of its kind in this local government called Making Schools Better (MSB).
"This program is first of its kind in Ogun State if not Nigeria as it does not just cater for the needs of the student like it use to be before and in other areas, for the first time in history a school program that will cater for the students, motivate the teachers and at the same time empower the parents.
"This initiative is an indication that our group, DA Likeminds has the best interest of this local government in mind. We would do our best to ensure the Ayorinde-led administration succeeds and our Party, APC returns our amiable Governor for second term, even as we call on more persons of goodwill to support the local and state government." he submitted.
Meanwhile, Ogunpola disclosed that the group will soon start honoring top leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state effective from November, 2021.
He said this move would bring about increased support for DA Likeminds group in Ogun state and strengthen the second term bid of Prince Dapo Abiodun.
