Arabambi Petitions Police Over Alleged Threat To Life by Sky Motors MD

Abayomi Arabambi

ABEOKUTA - The erstwhile Chairman, Labour Party in Ogun State, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has cried out over alleged threat to life by the Managing Director, Sky Motors, Mr. Wale Joseph.

Arabambi explained that on February 4, 2022, around 10:45pm while returning from IPAC election, an unregistered Mercedes Benz accosted him at Panseke pedestrian bridge and an occupant in the vehicle with a mask stepped down and pointed gun at him.

The ex-Ogun Labour Party Chairman explained that he had to take a detour to Quarry road and rushed down to a nearby hotel to scamper for safety.

Arabambi, in a petition letter signed by his counsel, Mr. Monday Mawah addressed to the State Commissioner of Police, noted that he reported the case of assassination attempt on his life and family members at Adigbe Divisional Police Station.

According to him, when the DPO invited the accused person, Wale Joseph, he confessed to the allegation but claimed he was joking with him.

Arabambi stressed that in less than an hour without proper investigation, the accused person was released on bail on the instruction of the DPO without a surety.

He, therefore, called on the Commissioner of Police to further investigate the matter and bring the accused person and his accomplices to book.

While reacting, Mr. Wale Joseph denied threatening Mr. Arabambi with a gun or making assassination attempts on his life.

He explained that on the fateful day, he accosted Mr. Arabambi at Panseke under bridge to exchange pleasantries with him, but unfortunately, Arabambi misunderstood his gesture and ran away.

Mr. Wale added that, he immediately called Arabambi on phone to inform him he was the one that accosted him at Panseke.

He, however, expressed disappointment that he was invited by the Police the following day on the allegation of assassination attempt on Mr. Arabambi's life.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed that the command had received a petition against Mr. Wale Joseph.

Oyeyemi said the case is already being investigated by the Adigbe divisional police station.
