ABEOKUTA - A 45-year-old man, Yisau Nurudeen Babatunde has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and has called on well-meaning Nigerians to assist him with N15 million for a kidney transplant.
Yisau, an Ogun State-born public servant with the state Ministry of Education is battling with hypertension, stomach pain, and swollen legs, which grew worse and affected his two kidneys, leading to total damage.
According to a medical report signed by Dr Oyekunle Oyebisi, Consultant Nephrologists/Physician, Bestcare Medical and Kidney Centre Hospital, “Yisau Nurudeen Babatunde was first presented to this facility with complaints of leg swelling, vomiting and hypertension.
Dr. Oyekunle explained that, after thorough clinical and biochemical investigations, he was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease secondary to hypertension.
According to him, the patient had been on maintenance hemodialysis and other care.
He emphasized that, he would eventually require a renal transplant for a better quality of life.
Speaking to THE ENCOUNTER NEWS, his wife, Bukola Aminat Yisau, disclosed that he has been battling high blood pressure for over a year without any improvement hence the need to undergo a kidney transplant.
In her words: "He had got to the final stage. He has been on dialysis and drugs since April 2021 to regulate him, but nothing has changed. We seek help now because we do not have money again to carry out the transplant."
