ABEOKUTA - A socio-political group, Ogun State Positive Change Initiatives Movement has called on the federal government to find lasting solution to the rising spate of insecurity and killings across the country.
The group chairman in the state, Engr. Mathew Folarin said it is expedient for the federal government to find political solution to the insecurity on time, in order not to disrupt the 2023 general elections.
Folarin noted that Nigerians will not condone any prank by the government or its actors to truncate the franchise exercise of the citizens.
He stated this on Tuesday at the inaugural meeting of the newly appointed State and Senatorial executives.
He called on Muslim adherents to use the occasion of the Ramadan fasting to seek the face of God in proffering solution to the multi-faceted challenges facing the nation.
"It is important to call for peace and tranquility among the Christians and Muslim during this Ramadan fasting period.
"I want to appeal to the newly appointed Exco members to be of good characters, full of integrity and honesty in the discharge of their duties/assignments, and also mandated all the Exco members both the state and local govts to move out emmase to obtain their voter's card as that is the weapon that will enable us choose a credible and reliable candidate of our choice to help us have a better Nigeria, and also encourage the positive Change that we are clamouring for.
" This group condemn the insecurity/killing situation in Nigeria and appeal to the federal government to find a lasting solution to it on time as not to disrupt the 2023 coming election."
