ABEOKUTA - A suspected cultist said to be behind terror attacks in Abeokuta and Ifo environs of Ogun State has been arrested by operatives of the Police Command.
The suspect Rotimi Adebiyi a.k.a called ‘Paracetamol’ has been on the wanted list of police over alleged roles in several cult clashes leading to the death of some members of a rival cult group in the State.
Adebiyi was arrested by Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) Olanrewaju Kalejaye – led SWAT operatives in his hideout in Ifo area of Ogun State on Saturday.
The suspect, said to be a leader of Eiye cult group, was alleged to always storm Abeokuta metropolis to strike and afterwards, sneaks into his hideout in Ifo.
It was learnt the police operatives, acting on credible intelligence, stormed his place at about 1.30am on Saturday and apprehended him.
Ogun Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday, listed one local pistol, one live cartridge, assorted criminal charms, weed suspected to be Indian hemp, and a cutlass as items recovered from him.
