Odedeji Promises Staff Job Satisfaction, As NBTE Revalidates MAPOLY

ABEOKUTA - The Acting Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun state, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji has assured lecturers and non-academic staff of the institution of the management's resolve to create job satisfaction.

Odedeji maintained that, the core value of the new MAPOLY was to create an enabling environment for both staff and students to restore the glory of the institution. 

The Ag. Rector stated this Tuesday at the 3rd Annual Retreat organized by Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) MAPOLY chapter. 

He equally noted that, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has revalidated the status of the polytechnic from Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. 

He explained that, NBTE revalidation committee led by Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed has mandated the polytechnic to be recognized as MAPOLY and admit students with effect from 2019/2020 academic session. 

He therefore, commended the lecturers for their tenacity and doggedness for weathering the storm during the crisis that engulfed the institution in the last three years. 

He however announced the readiness of the polytechnic to offer Bachelor of Technology in due course without affiliating to any university. 

"Today, we can rejoice that we are full fledge staff of MAPOLY. God has used His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun to open the channel. But I can assure you there will be job satisfaction and that value will be put in place. The core value is stronger than the whole objective visions and mission.

"The NBTE revalidation committee led by Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed, Chairman of chairmen of all Governing Council of Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria, recommends that, MAPOLY should be recognized and approved by NBTE board to admit students with effect from 2019/2020 academic session. 

"I can assure you that the high impact TETFUND Intervention will be available by the end of this year. So, I want you urge you, this is not the time to pitch tent or to create confusion or crisis.

"To fully maximize our potentials, we will begin award of B.Tech without affiliation to anybody. We can stand on our own, once we do that, all Polytechnics in Southwest will be depending on us."

Also speaking, the ASUP Chairman, Comrade Osifalujo Babatunde assured the management of the academic staff's dedication to the progress of the polytechnic. 

Osifalujo commended the state governor for saving the polytechnic from going into extinction in the face challenges confronting the revalidation of the institution. 

"We give glory to God that as usual, all our staff having gone back and having our jobs assurance by Prince Dapo Abiodun, the executive governor of Ogun State.

"We are going to rededicate ourselves and be more dedicated to adjust and that is part of the reasons why we are holding this retreat, so that we will know that we are still in job. So, you don't expect anything less than the the best from us."
