ABEOKUTA - About 300 school children with special needs of Daniel Akintonde primary school in Abeokuta were kitted with lunch packs on Wednesday.
The distribution of the school bags was organized by OGBC Father Xmas Show to felicitate with the school children with special needs.
Speaking at the presentation of the items, one of the donors, the President, Save Her Foundation, Rev. Fola Achudume said the donation was to put smile on the faces of the less privileged in the society.
Achudume who was represented by Pastor Mrs. Bola Adeoye said the Save Her Foundation believes in transforming destinies and beautifying lives of the people.
Mrs. Achudume charged the children to be steadfast and believe in themselves, wit assurance that they will be greater in life.
Also speaking, the Chairperson, OGBC Father Xmas Show, Doyin Lasisi said the challenges confronted by children living with disabilities necessitated the need to bring the Christmas funfair to the school.
Lasisi emphasized that the Xmas show and donation of items through individual's contribution was part of the Corperate Social Responsibility of OGBC to the public.
She therefore, thanked all the donors who contributed to the donation of the gift items.
In her closing remarks, the Head Teacher, Daniel Akintonde Home of Children with Special Needs, Mrs. Olubukola Idowu thanked OGBC and other sponsors for identifying with the children during the Christmas season, saying the gesture would give the children sense of belonging.
Other sponsors of the OGBC Father Xmas funfair are; the CEO Blue Lenz Production, Mr. Gbenga Dina, Dr. Gbenga Adeoye of Global and African Foundation Against Poverty, Ignorance and Sickness (GAFFAPIS), Alhaja Mulikat Osiowunmi, a veteran broadcaster, Grandma Olufunmilayo Dina and others.
The OGBC Father Xmas Groove will move to Lepers Colony, Iberekodo on Saturday.
