160,000 Customs Job Seekers Seek Buhari’s Help

ABUJA - Two years after the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced employment opportunities for 3,200 positions within the service, the 160,000 job seekers who applied and wrote the computer-based test (CBT) have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to compel the NCS Comptroller General, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.), to release their results and end their frustrations.

The NCS had, on April 17, 2019, announced the recruitment of 3,200 positions within the service and after selecting from the 524,315 applications, invited about 160,000 of them for the CBT on the January 9, 2020.

But the CBT result has not been released, more than a year after the test.

Speaking with The Nation on phone on the development, NCS national spokesman Joseph Attah said the result of the test would soon be made public.

“What I can say for now is that the result of the CBT test will be out in few weeks,” he said.

Regretting the delay and lack of communication from the NCS at the weekend, some of the job seekers accused the service of not considering their feelings.
