ABEOKUTA- The Chief of Staff to the Ogun State governor, Salisu Shuaib has expressed his optimism about the All Progressive Congress (APC) being victorious in the local government elections.
The Honourable Chief of Staff, expressed confidence of winning the election saying, the governor's unprecedented achievements across the 20 local government areas of Ogun state would spur APC to victory.
He added that the people of Ogun state are so keen to participate in the election process,saying their preference for good governance would trigger them to vote for the right candidate.

He, however, described the process as peaceful and impressive adding that, although there was a delay in getting the instrument needed to polling units but the turnout had been encouraging.
Also speaking, the APC chairmanship candidate for Abeokuta North, Hon. Abdul-salam Ayorinde said that the turnout of electorate is satisfactory and the turnout with time will be excellent.
Ayorinde after casting his vote at Ward 1 Unit 3 Abeokuta North expressed his confidence in emerging winner.
He said, "when a lion chases an antelope the antelope runs because it knows it can't beat the lion"
Ayorinde said that, Governor Abiodun's performance will be instrumental for his victory.
Also speaking in separate interviews, the Transition Chairmen of Abeokuta South and Odeda LGs, Ayodeji Shomide and Bola Lawal described the turnout as impressive.
“The election has been peaceful so far. I’m an APC member and at the end of the election, my expectation is that APC will win this election,” Shomide said.
The Commissioner for Rural Development, Taiwo Oludotun praised the security measures for the poll, saying “voters also conducted themselves in peaceful and orderly manner.”

Also speaking with pressmen, former Chairmanship aspirant in Abeokuta North, Engineer Olalekan Tajudeen Ishola said the best party would emerge victorious at the poll.
Ishola popularly known as TJ also described the turnout of the election as impressive, encouraging and orderly.
The Special Assistant to the governor on Youths and Sports, Olamide Lawal described poll as “well contested,” but hoped APC would emerge victorious.
Lawal said Ogun “has never had it so good in the number of youths contesting the election.”
