ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, Federal House Committee on Rural Development in the 8th National Assembly, Hon. Oladidupo Adebutu has sent his condolences to the victims of Lafenwa Market Inferno which was caused by a fallen truck ladened with Premium Motor Spirits (Petrol) in the early hours of Sunday.

He said, “I wish to express my deep sympathy and concern, I also commiserate with the families of the victims, who lost their lives and valuables to the fire outbreak at Lafenwa market which was caused by the fallen truck loaded with PMS which could have possibly been avoided if the present Government saw the need to make the Lafenwa - Ayetoro road passable”.
Adebutu wished the injured persons a speedy recovery and prayed that God would console the grieving families which the incident affected.
Adebutu also called on the Ogun State Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun to be proactive to the concerns of the citizens, not to be waiting until something terrible as this happened before doing the right thing.
He lamented that several complaints were made concerning the condition of the road which the government failed to respond to and put in any positive action.
He stressed that “if we have had a responsive and passionate government that takes the lives of its citizens very important, this sad occurrence would have been avoided”.
